Accessible Research Toolkit

Toolkit to enhance the accessibility of research for people with learning disabilities
Technology No. B0007

The COALITION Project was a collaboration between the University of Birmingham, the University of Leeds, People First and Wilsons Solicitors. We used co-production research methods to investigate barriers people with learning disabilities face in seeking legal information and advice, and to explore ways to enhance the accessibility of legal information to provide more accessible legal service to the community.

This Accessible Research Toolkit is one of the main outcomes from this research. We have also produced a set of free easy read templates and resources for legal services providers.

This Accessible Research Toolkit includes:

1. Guidance on how to produce your own easy read participant information and consent forms, tailored to your research project.

2. Copies of the participant information sheet and consent form for the ‘Co-Producing Accessible Legal Information’ Project.

3. Example templates for you to adapt to use in your own research.

The Accessible Research Toolkit is free to download and use under the terms of a CC-BY license. We would like to be able to contact you for feedback on your use of the toolkit in the future.
