Pluricells

Pluricells^TM cell lines have been developed specifically for use in cellular agriculture. We have established pluripotent lines from pre-implantation embryos of cattle, pigs and sheep with the aim of the cell lines and media being food standard compliant. Pluricells^TM are:

- Effectively immortal (more than 200 replications trialled, with no deterioration) 

- Fast doubling time (12-16 hours)

- Long-term culture stable

- Pluripotent, with robust differentiation capacity towards muscle and fat

- Fully traceable to origin animal, with certification possible (for commercial lines) 

- Cells and media contain no antibiotics or animal-derived products (such as serum or feeder cells). Media is fully chemically defined and all proteins are bacterially-sourced and highly purified

We offer only research-grade cell lines via this portal for use in academic labs and for companies wishing to evaluate Pluricells^TM. Our research-grade lines are derived and maintained in the same way as commercial-grade lines, but lack full certification. Commercial-grade lines are available for commercial customers who have already evaluated our research-grade lines – by contacting us directly.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

- We offer different licences for academic and commercial licensees. Make sure you select the correct licence (academic or commercial user) in the top right-hand corner of the page. 

- Academic licences will only be granted to universities or non-profit research institutions and will only grant permission for the cells to be utilised in the laboratory of the lead investigator at the named institution. They may be used for collaborative research with commercial entities, but cannot be transferred out of the laboratory of the lead investigator at the named institution. If a commercial collaborator wishes to utilise the cell lines in their own laboratory, they must obtain their own commercial-user licence.

- Commercial-user licences will allow the transfer of cell lines out of the laboratory of the company purchasing them, but only for limited R&D purposes and under strict terms.

- Our standard licences include 2x1mL vials of cells and vials of cell culture media concentrate sufficient for 1L diluted media. Commercial standard licences only cover a single species. If you wish to obtain additional vials of cells or media, or to add species, you may add this to your order.
